On the way down

It's been 4 weeks since I began this new approach. I am amazed that it has not been as hard as I thought it would be. I have avoided the whole nutrition and diet thing for years because I love to eat and just couldn't imagine not having the foods I enjoy. Now I realize how much unnecessary eating I was doing; portions were way too large and a lot of foods I really didn't need. An example is sour cream, I couldn't imagine a baked potato without it. Now I put some seasoning salt on it and it's still really good. I'm not starving and I really don't feel like I'm missing out because I treat myself on the weekends. I really enjoy working out with my personal trainer. He really pushes me to work hard but we have a good laugh too.

I have had a lingering cold for a couple of weeks that seems to have really reached its peak this week. I have stayed home to rest and try to get better for the last two days because I have a terrible headache and my chest hurts. Hopefully this passes soon.

The good news....my weight is currently at 156.6lbs. That's a 9lb loss in 4 weeks. I am really looking forward to getting back to 151lbs and then seeing where I get to from there. It definitely isn't all about the scale though, I really want to see my body fat % and my measurements come down. For me, those are the numbers that count. I just needed to lose the access I had put on since Ironman.
