Going with the flow
There hasn't been much to write about lately. Training has been really good! It looks like everything is working as planned. Now I can run faster and maintain a lower heart rate. It's a great way to see my progress and know that I'm fitter now than I was 6 weeks ago. Training is light over Christmas - still 5 days but shorter workouts. I'm trying to recover and refresh as much as possible because I think January is going to be tough.
We're in the market for a treadmill now. It's tough to get all of the workouts in so the more I have at home the easier it is. Every year I figure I have what I need for tri so it should get less expensive but it seems like the more you have, the more you need. I guess you can't put a price on your health or that feeling of crossing the finish line.
Starting to think about the goal time for Great White North but I don't feel ready to set it just yet. The original goal was just to come in under 8 hours, but I think that is selling myself short. Some of my friends are throwing around numbers like 6:40. I think that might be a little ambitious and I don't want to feel disappointed if I'm not that fast. I'm thinking an hour off would be fantastic, so I'll be happy with 7:30 and really happy if I'm under 7:20. But I'll see how training goes to get a better idea of what is realistic.
With it being the end of 2006 right away, I wanted to take a minute and thank everyone that has followed my progress, offered advice and encouragement!!! 2006 was an amazing year for me. Cheers to 2007.
